Surveillance

What is it

The core part of every investigation is evidence. One of the main ways an investigations agency gathers evidence is conducting surveillance. Surveillance performed by a private investigator is any act of monitoring and documenting one or more subjects (a person, place, or thing) by video or audio recording (subject to local law restrictions in covert situations). There are many different types of surveillance that the investigators have been trained on and mastered, these include but not limited to:

  • Physical Surveillance: This involves following and/or watching subjects while on foot or in a vehicle.
  • Technical Surveillance: Instead of direct confrontation or physical presence, we may use hidden cameras and audio recording devices to monitor a subject's movement. Due to the Two-Party consent Law, audio recordings must be taken in a public area, and much audio evidence is commonly dismissible in court.
  • Online and Digital Surveillance: Through the use of social media, CCIG can track a subject's digital footprint to use as foothold in uncovering their next actions.

How this works is to live in obscurity. Please recall your last trip in your car to the grocery store, your friend’s house, your workplace, or your travel back home. Do you remember every person you saw during the trip? Do you remember what they were doing? What about the cars around you? To collect information outside of their view is our specialty. However, certain vigilant subjects prove difficult as they're aware of their surroundings. Some individuals are particularly cautious, remembering details like the cars directly behind them during their commute, noting even the make and model. These individuals present unique challenges, but by positioning yourself in their blind spots and leveraging unobtrusive surveillance methods, we can ensure successful observations without alerting the subject.

What we can offer

Based on any of our packages, you can expect for a team of private investigators on your case, so that everyone is rested and ready to take on their scheduled shifts depending on the length of the observation period. During this time, evidence will be legally collected to use in court from either photo or video footage of the subjects, while also adapting based on the current events. At the end of every surveillance, all activity will be reported into the final report, which we'll mail to you via email within 24 hours of the final surveillance period.

How long will it take

Depending on the combination of surveillances performed, this process can take from up to only a few days, to multiple weeks. In order to optimized hours, we'll be in contact with the client to best decide how these hours will be spent, in addition to providing the client with info needed to continue the case. Hours spent on surveillance can be increased at the clients request.

Before you call- what should you prepare?

Before contacting CCIG, make sure to prepare or consider the following: (information viability may vary depending on surveillance type)

  • Relevant Information About the Subject:
  • ~Personal Details: Full name, age, physical description, photographs, usernames/aliases, email/phone number and other social contacts
  • ~Routine: Subject's work schedule, frequently visited places, hobbies/social habits, and any other known routines
  • ~Vehicle Information: Model/make/year, color, license plates
  • Clear Objective: Please have a clear idea of what you were hoping to achieve with the surveillance. Whether it's gathering evidence for a legal case, confirming suspicions about infidelity, tracking a missing person, or monitoring employee behavior, knowing the objective helps tailor the investigation to you.
  • Any other questions for the Investigator: If what you're looking for isn't listed, please ask away!
